Local Road Projects Set for 2026/27
Fenton, MI: The Local Street Improvement Program has established areas where construction will take place for 2026-2027. In 2021, City of Fenton residents passed a millage to improve all almost all the neighborhood streets that had been rated “poor” by an engineering study. During road improvements, many areas of the community have also had watermain replacement and sanitary sewer improvements.
The 2026 project year will include reconstruction of Elm Street and Long Street with new watermain installed. Hillview Terrace and portions of Valley Drive and Valleyview Drive will have watermain replacement to upgrade the subdivision’s original watermain that has reached the end of its service life. Hillview Terrace, Valley Drive, Valleyview Drive and Orchardview Drive in the City of Fenton will be reconstructed. This portion of the project will include curb and gutter repairs as needed with stormwater structures inspected and repaired.
The 2027 project year will include reconstruction of Maple Tree Drive, Plumtree Lane, Peach Tree Drive, Old Orchard Blvd., and Peach Tree Trail. Work on these streets will include curb and gutter repairs as needed and storm structure inspection and repair. Trealout Drive will be reconstructed with new watermain from Leroy Street to dead end of Trealout Drive. Street signs, including street names, warning, and regulatory signage, will be replaced during both projects.
Design is currently underway with sewer and storm investigation. Soil borings will occur to better determine the final project scope for all streets listed in the 2026-2027 project years.
