Downtown Fenton, Michigan is the focal point for the community and a destination for many from surrounding communities. Residents and visitors alike appreciate The City of Fenton's historic, small-town feel along with the variety of shops, restaurants and eateries and professional services.

Eager to preserve its history while planning for the future, the City of Fenton is participating in creating a long-term vision of what Downtown Fenton will become and is in the process of developing a comprehensive Downtown Plan and Design Guidelines. This plan will help Downtown Fenton plan for economic development and promote business for the years to come.

The Office of Economic Development provides services to stimulate economic development and assist the development process. Economic Development offers many different programs in order to facilitate and encourage private development in Fenton. Our staff assists developers in accessing City programs and services to facilitate business expansion and/or relocation within the city. This office provides staff to and leadership to the following City Boards and Commissions: The Downtown Development Authority, Local Development Finance Authority and Brownfield Redevelopment Authority.
