Arts and Culture Commission

The objectives and purposes of the Commission shall be to advise and recommend to the City Council and City administration appropriate means to encourage, facilitate, and promote arts and culture in the City.

Beautification Commission

The purpose of the Beautification Commission is to pursue and maintain beauty and strive for aesthetically pleasing surroundings in the city.

Board of Review

In each case where the assessed value is increased or any property added to the tax rolls by the board, the secretary of the board shall give notice to the owners thereof according to the last assessment roll.

Brownfield Redevelopment Authority

The purpose of the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority is to encourage and assist developers who want to return property to productive use more quickly and at lower costs than before, while still protecting human resources.

Compensation Commission

The commission shall determine the salary of each elected official of the City of Fenton.

Development Area Citizens Council

The Development Area Citizens Council shall act as an advisory body to the authority and the City Council in the adoption of the development or tax increment financing plans.

Downtown Development Authority

The purpose of the Downtown Development Authority is to improve the Downtown District through effective planning and implementation of public improvement projects.

Library Board

The Library Board shall be charged with the operation and development of rules of procedure and use, of the library, buildings, and grounds, subject to any contracts for joint operations with other library systems.

Local Development Finance Authority

Local Development Finance Authority (LDFA) establishes the legal basis and procedure for the capture and expenditure of tax increment revenues.

Museum Board

The purpose of the Museum Board is to perform tasks related to the museum or historical purposes.

Oakwood Cemetery Board

The Oakwood Cemetery Board is in charge of improving the management and operation of the cemeteries.

Park & Recreation Board

The Park and Recreation Board is responsible for improving, maintaining and supervising of parks and recreational facilities in the City, including the development of areas into park and other recreational facilities.

Planning Commission

The purpose of the Planning Commission is to review site plans and study and recommend on planning and zoning matters.

Zoning Board

The purpose of the Zoning Board is to hear and decide appeals from the plan review, any order, requirements, permit, decision or determination made by the building inspector, zoning administrator or any other administrative official in enforcing the provisions of this charter.
