The City of Fenton offers a residential brush chipping and removal program that runs from May 1st through September 30th. This program allows residential properties to place their brush next to the street and the Department of Public Works (DPW) will chip and haul away the material. Brush pickup is limited to one collection per year with a quantity limitation of material no larger than 12 inches in diameter, no longer than 8 feet in length, piled up to 4 feet in height and up to 30 feet in width. The program is offered at no cost for residential properties located within the city.
To participate in this no-cost program:
- Contact City Hall at 810-629-2261 prior to Friday noon for collection on the following Monday. Service is limited to one pickup per residential property per year.
- Place brush alongside the roadway with the cut ends facing the street. Maximum material size is 12 inches in diameter with a cut length no longer than 8 feet. Pile size is limited to 4 feet in height, 8 feet in depth and 30 feet in width.
- The Department of Public Works will begin pickup at 7 am on Monday morning. In certain cases, the DPW may schedule Tuesday as the second, or alternate collection day.
- We cannot accept: bagged material, lawn clippings, vine/thorn/thistle material, root balls, construction material, landscape timbers, railroad ties or material larger than 12 inches in diameter.
